Understand ACH Commerce Better with Our Electronic Payment System Flow Chart

At the beginning of the ACH transfer cycle, the originator of the transaction—whether it be company, employer or customer—interacts with the originating depository financial institution (ODFI). The ODFI passes along to the ACH operator at the Federal Reserve, who reviews the transaction, then sends it on to the receiving depository financial institution (RDFI). From the RDFI, the final recipient is the receiver, which is the customer, employee or company. Written authorization is then sent back to the originator to confirm a valid ACH commerce transaction.

This electronic payment system improves the efficiency and timeless of electronic fund transfers. ACH transfer can be used for all types of payment processing, large or small.
